Graphic Arts Advisors Names Mitch Evans Managing Director

New role recognizes Evans’ long and distinguished track record of helping clients achieve successful M&A transactions

Graphic Arts Advisors (GAA), Mountain Lakes, NJ-based strategic financial advisory and consulting firm focused exclusively on the printing, packaging, mailing, marketing services, brand management, and related graphic communications industries, is pleased to announce that Mitchell “Mitch” Evans has been named a Managing Director of the firm.

“Mitch has more than 40 years of experience in the print and graphic communications industry, as both a successful printing company owner and a consultant who has guided clients through more than 60 successful printing industry mergers and acquisitions,” noted Mark Hahn, Senior Managing Director of GAA. “He brings to our clients the keen insights he has gained from his hands-on operational experience as a printing company owner for 23 years. This new title recognizes the significant value Mitch provides to help clients achieve their strategic objectives.”

In discussing his new role, Evans points to trends in today’s graphic communications industry that are driving an increasing number of mergers and acquisitions. “There is a convergence going on in our industry where there is less distinction between commercial printers, mailing service providers, digital printers, wide format sign shops, and related companies. Many of today’s demanding customers want their suppliers to be all those things. Businesses that can’t keep up with this trend will fall by the wayside. If they don’t want to make the necessary investments to stay competitive, owners may choose to sell or to merge with another company.”

For owners who decide to grow their company, Evans points out that acquisitions are an excellent way for a printer to add new services, such as mailing, for instance. “When acquiring a company, the buyer often adds, in addition to new capabilities, a highly desirable book of business, selected equipment, and, perhaps most importantly, a skilled staff with experience in the newly acquired service.”

Evans joined GAA shortly after the relaunch of the firm in 2015. “Mitch has been integral to the growth and success of our M&A advisory services to the printing, packaging, and related industries with his in-depth understanding of and ability to relate to entrepreneurial and family-owned companies,” said Hahn.
